Which curriculum is taught at IST secondary?

IST secondary offers the International Cambridge Curriculum to years 7 to 11. In year 9, children choose their subjects for their IGCSE’s and take their Checkpoint tests. This school year, 2017/2018, IST has enrolled the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP 1) in year 12.  In addition, year 12 and year 13 students can take their AS and A levels for this final year. In school year 2018/2019, the AS and A levels will be fully replaced by IB DP 1 and 2.

Do new students applying for admission to IST secondary have to take an entrance exam?

Students applying for admission to IST secondary do not have to take an entrance exam to enter our school. Please note however that before starting at IST, our head of secondary and Career Counsellor conduct an intake with new students, in order to discuss the subjects they are taking, their grades and the level of their English, this being the main language spoken at IST. If deemed necessary the level of English may be tested.

What are the school fees for education at IST secondary and what is included?

As a public school, IST is officially recognised by the Dutch Ministry of Education, which contributes funds to the school. These government funds cover approximately half of the actual costs. Parents are therefore required to pay school fees, which are charged annually in advance, to cover all other remaining expenses. The school fees cover all study materials including books and the loan of a Chromebook at our secondary location. Exam costs are not included in the fee. For a complete overview of our fees and requirements, please visit our admissions page on the website.
